Two weeks ago I took John in and they replaced the splint with a hard cast.
It was the first time we were able to see what the pins in his arm looked like.

He was excited to pick the color. I thought casts had to have sheets of wet plaster or something but that is evidently old school thinking. Now they just pad it up and then wrap around this fiberglass gauze looking stuff in color of your choice, then dampen it up a little and it activates something in the material that gets hard instantly.
Two more weeks to go!
